From the first home visit to the final walkthrough, Johnsons handles the whole room under one roof — fitted kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and wet rooms, studies, dressing rooms, media and games rooms, laundry and boot rooms, sliding door systems and lighting. Every service below is designed by Steve and installed by our own team across Harrogate and North Yorkshire.

Fitted Kitchens
The kitchen is where Johnsons started, and it remains the heart of what we do. Steve designs a bespoke kitchen around your space, your requirements and the way you actually cook and live, then Stuart and the team supply and install it. Where a kitchen is looking tired but the units are in good shape, Steve will tell you so — he's known for recommending a refurbishment or a refresh over a full replacement, updating the room for less rather than stripping out something sound. It's the honest, space-first advice customers say felt refreshing after the national chains.

Fitted Bedrooms
A fitted bedroom makes the most of every inch, and ours is designed entirely around your room and your wardrobe. We build custom fitted furniture with space-saving storage worked into the awkward corners and eaves, available in an extensive range of styles, designs and colours to suit anything from a period Harrogate townhouse to a new build. Steve designs it, Stuart builds and fits it — tidily, and to a standard customers return to us for time and again.

Bathrooms
We design, supply and install complete bathrooms, treating the whole room as one considered scheme rather than a set of separate fittings. That means the suite, the sanitaryware, the taps and the integrated storage all specified to work together and to suit how the room is used. Steve plans the layout around the space you have, and the team installs it cleanly from first fix to final seal — a bathroom that feels calm, practical and built to last.

Whether you work from home every day or just need a well-ordered corner for admin, a fitted study earns its keep. We design bespoke office furniture that brings together function, practicality and a sleek, uncluttered look — proper desk space, cable management, shelving and storage built around how you work. It's tailored to the room it lives in, so a home office feels like part of the house rather than an afterthought bolted onto it.

Sliding Door Systems
Sliding doors are one of the most versatile ways to divide, store and finish a space — for wardrobes, garages, playrooms and laundries alike. We supply and fit systems with mirror panels, coloured glass (solid or sectional), painted or wood finishes and aluminium frames, so the doors suit the room as much as they organise it. Popular finishes include Boston Concrete and Cartesio Toucher, and Steve will help you choose the panel, colour and frame that work for your space.

Interior Design Consultation
Every Johnsons project begins with a conversation. Steve offers home visits at no obligation — he comes to you, looks at the space, listens to how you use it, and gives honest advice on what will genuinely improve it. From there he manages the whole project, from the initial concept and design through to a completed installation, so you have one experienced point of contact throughout rather than being passed between a designer, a supplier and a fitter.

Showers & Wet Rooms
A wet room is a beautiful, practical way to open up a bathroom, and we design and install them to order. Whether you're converting an existing bathroom into a wet room or constructing an entirely new one, we handle the tanking, drainage, screens and finishes — in contemporary materials and tiling chosen to suit the room. It's a specialist job done properly, so it looks sharp and stays watertight for years.

Dressing Rooms
A dedicated dressing room turns getting ready into a pleasure. We design luxury custom dressing rooms with organised, made-to-measure storage for clothing, shoes and jewellery — hanging worked out by garment length, pull-out rails, drawers and display designed around what you actually own. Finished to the same standard as the rest of the house, it's storage that feels considered rather than crammed in.

TV & Media Rooms
A media room only works if the technology disappears into it. We design purpose-built TV and media rooms with bespoke storage that manages the cables, houses the equipment neatly and keeps everything easy to reach when you need it. Designed around your household's routine, it takes the mess out of the busiest part of the day.

A games room should feel like a proper retreat. We build custom fitted furniture for it — housing for media equipment, shelving, a space for the TV and dedicated storage for board games and the rest — and design the lighting professionally so the room works for both play and relaxing. Everything is tailored to the space and to how the room will be used, so it's as tidy as it is fun.

Kitchen Refurbishment
Not every kitchen needs ripping out. Where the units are structurally sound but the room is looking tired, Steve will recommend a refurbishment rather than a full replacement — new doors, worktops, handles and finishes that transform the look without the cost and upheaval of a complete rebuild.
